Three countries excluded from OECD blacklist

The Cayman Islands, the Bahamas and Bermuda have been excluded from the blacklist of tax havens by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

However, the three countries have been placed on a separate grey list of countries that have agreed to improve transparency standards but have not yet signed the necessary international accords.

The leader of government in the Cayman Islands, Kurt Tibbets, says his country is continuing its efforts to fully comply.

He says substantial progress has already been made.

Yesterday G20 countries recommended that the OECD compiles lists of non-compliant tax havens.
