Guyana president resumes tour

Guyana’s President Bharrat Jagdeo is to resume his visit to Middle East countries in a bid to increase investments in the Caribbean territory.

Mr. Jagdeo postponed his visits following the passing of former president Janet Jagan last month.

He has already travelled to Syria, Cyprus and Jordan and is scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait.

The government information agency says these countries are important to the Guyana’s investment drive given their status as capital exporting countries.

Guyana is seeking investors in its forestry, mining and agriculture sectors.
