100 passengers fear dead in Congo accident

At least 100 passengers on a boat are feared dead after their vessel sank on Lake Tanganyika off the Democratic Republic of Congo.



The vessel was travelling from the town of Kalemie in the southeast to Moba.



10 bodies have been recovered and authorities fear there may be no survivors.



Correspondents said due to poor infrastructure in the war ravaged Democratic Republic in Congo, ferries are the cheapest and most popular form of transport between lakeside towns.
