Falling satellite worries USA

The United States military is now developing plans to deal with the possibility that a large satellite could hit North America.

It is reported that the satellite is expected to fall on the earth in late February or early March.

According to US Air Force General, Gene Renuart the size of the satellite suggests that some pieces will not be burnt and will therefore hit the ground.

Mr. Renuart said military agencies are doing an analysis to determine, which pieces will most likely survive after re-entering the earth’s atmosphere.

A US official confirmed that the spy satellite almost immediately lost power after being launched in 2006.
