Leader of the main opposition People’s National Congress Reform in Guyana Robert Corbin was flown to the United States for medical treatment after he was hospitalized over the weekend.

Corbin, 61, was accompanied by doctors from a private US medical institution and was reported to be in a stable condition.

A party statement said Corbin was hospitalised after complaining of chest pains.

On Saturday, he was admitted to the Woodlands Hospital and later transferred to the Caribbean Heart Institute (CHI) located on the compound of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Corbin’s brother, Charles said he’s optimistic that the Opposition Leader will make a complete recovery.
