The United States is appealing to European nations to accept detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to help the Obama administration close down the prison facility.

US Attorney General Eric Holder says while Europe has no role in the camp, it must be willing to make unpopular choices.

Holder failed to indicate when and how the United States would release the detainees or if criminal charge will be laid again them. There are 241 detainees at detention camp.
