The Caribbean Epidemiology Centre (CAREC) says all tests for suspected cases of the H1N1 influenza virus in the region have been negative.

However, CAREC has continued to urge vigilance among citizens of Caribbean countries.

The Food Safety Scientist at the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr. Peter Ben Embarek has again emphasised that the virus is not transmitted by food, which is properly cooked.

According to him once you cook a product that may contain the virus, it becomes inactivated.
