President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete has dissolved his cabinet following increasing accusations of corruption.

The three-member Cabinet has been implicated in an energy deal involving a US based electricity company.

The company, which was hired in 2006 to provide electricity during a power crisis, was found to be costing the country more than US$100,000 a day.

However, Members of Parliament said the company had failed to provide electrical service.

The parliamentary committee, which is conducting investigations into the scandal, is recommending that the Cabinet members be prosecuted for failing to provide the services.
