When Rocksteady, Reggae and Dancehall meet in a massive showdown on May 23, at the Jamalco Sports Complex in Clarendon, it will be an entertainment event to remember.

Entertainers such as U-Roy, Leroy Sibbles, Ernie Smith, Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Beenie Man, Macka Diamond, Vybz Kartel, Chino, Laden, and others are gearing up to deliver a live music experience that is quite rich.

Before the entertainers take the stage for the show, at 8 p.m., they will prove their mettle in a 20/20 cricket match against celebrities, which is part of the complete entertainment package for the event.

Team Artiste, to be captained by dancehall crooner Wayne Marshall, consists of saxophonist Dean Fraser, reggae artiste Freddie McGregor, Captain Wickerman

and Barkey. With more artistes left to be confirmed, among which include the potent dancehall lyricist, Vybz Kartel, the artistes are readying themselves for what is looking up to be an intense match.

Team Celebrity will be captained by Courtney Walsh and features, former West Indies cricketers Brian Lara and Curtly Ambrose, Zachary Harding, Wisynco head William Mahfood, as well as members from the KLAS, RJR, and IRIE FM media houses.

Walsh said at the launch that “music and sports go together, and so people can look forward to what should be an entertaining 20/20 cricket match.”
