The people of the Cayman Islands are electing a government and voting on a new constitution.
The polling stations will close at 6 this evening after which counting for seats on the 15-member Legislative Assembly will begin at 7.
The Electoral Office said votes on the constitution will be tallied tomorrow.
More than 15, 000 people are eligible to vote in the British territory.
Political observers said the election is a straight fight between the ruling People’s Progressive Movement (PPM) and the main opposition, United Democratic Party (UDP) that won five seats.
The PPM won nine seats in the last general election while the UDP won five.
