Payless to open store in Portmore

Payless ShoeSource will open its eleventh store in Jamaica this month, a representatives of the chain has confirmed.

The chain has already installed its signage at the location in Portmore Pines Plaza in St Catherine.

While the head of Payless operations in Jamaica was unavailable for comment on Friday, a company representative confirmed that the store will open to shoppers before yearend.

Payless ShoeSource, a subsidiary of Collective Brands, headquartered in Topeka, Kansas, opened shop in Jamaica in 2011.

Since then, five stores have been established in Kingston and St Andrew; one each in May Pen and Mandeville; two in Montego Bay; and one at the Spanish Town Mall, St Catherine.

Local employment is estimated at 100.
