T&T government admits failure to anti-crime plans

Government of Trinidad and Tobago has admitted that its anti-crime initiatives have failed.



National Security Minister, Martin Joseph, said the government is now conducting an extensive review of the anti-crime measures.



According to statistics from the police, since the start of the year, seven persons have been killed.



Last year, 388 people were killed, which is a five percent increase more than the figure recorded in 2006.



The government projected a 10 percent reduction.
