US in immigration talks with Caribbean countries

The United States Secretary for Homeland Security says the department is in negotiation with several Caribbean countries on immigration pre-clearance for US-bound flights.



According to Michael Chertoff an agreement has already been made with Aruba.



The agreement would allow passengers to pass through US immigration inspections, and in some cases customs and agriculture checks, before taking off.



However, Mr. Chertoff has not disclosed the other countries involved in the discussions.
