New Papa San singles ahead of Go-Splash 2015

Papa San is planning to bring a message of love, and a way to heal the world of its problems, through two new singles that will be part of his performance at Go-Splash 2015, at Sugarman's Beach in Hellshire, St Catherine, on August 1.

The artiste, who has collaborated with the likes of Kirk Franklin, Toby Mac, Percy Bady, and Chevelle, will headline a cast of gospel acts that will include DJ Nicholas, Ryan Mark, Jai Kingston, Jermaine Edwards, Omari, Chozenn, Katalyst Crew, and Kevin Smith, who will perform on two gospel shows at the event.

The dancehall legend who converted to Christianity almost two decades ago said his two new songs are the first of several coming soon, that will inspire healing in a broken world that can be redeemed by God's love.

Deal With It, the first of the two new singles that are available on iTunes, was released on the 'Speed-O-Meter' rhythm, on which artistes like I-Octane, Mavado and Vybz Kartel have recorded. It speaks to many of the problems facing the world today, including some of those facing Jamaicans like paedophilia, and skin bleaching. Papa San said the song suggests that those problems cannot be solved unless they are confronted. "You can't resolve a problem without confronting it. If you have a sickness in your body, you have to recognise that you have one, and you have to seek a physician to get the proper medication, and that is what the song is all about; there is an issue, confront it, and we go to the great physician, Jesus Christ, to fix the problem," he said. "Our kids going astray, paedophiles; it's not just in Jamaica, it's all over the world. When we have issues like these, we go to Christ and ask him to deal with it for us."

Of his other single, God's Love, he said, "God's love is Jesus. Jesus expressed that love by dying for us. God's love is unconditional. It doesn't matter who you are and where you're coming from or what you have done. His love is amazing, it is for all people."

The songs will form the basis of the message he wants to deliver at Go-Splash, where he intends to celebrate 18 years as a gospel artiste. "I am coming down to Go-Splash to enjoy myself. I am coming down with a team of people to have a wonderful time in the Lord," he said.
