Whithorn police seize two illegal weapons, arrest man

The Whithorn police in Westmoreland have arrested a man in connection with two firearms and several rounds of ammunition which were recovered yesterday.
The weapons were seized along the Petersfield main road in the parish.
The police say about 2:30 p.m. yesterday, a man travelling along the roadway on bicycle aroused the suspicion of a patrol team. He was stopped and searched and found with two 9-millimetre pistols and eight 9-millimeter rounds of ammunition.
