Gem Myers and Fab Five held tarpaulins above their heads, Miss Jamaica World 2015, Dr Sanneta Myrie made her first public appearance since rocking the Miss World stage, and the Montego Bay business community supported their Chamber of Commerce.

Not even the rain could daunt the crowd that turned out for the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry fundraising charity event last Saturday night, tagged Fashion Food and Dance (FFAD).

Now a staple on the entertainment calendar in the Second City, the FFAD opened 2016 with a bang, with the support of persons who came to see their bosses and colleagues model the latest from local designers Courtney Washington, via Ann-Marie Cadogan's 'Elegance', Ann-Marie Chin's 'Kokobeenz', and Earl Williams' 'Earl's Every Wear'.

With part proceeds going towards the MyMoBay Clean-up Initiative, it was an evening that saw Half Moon's Sugar Mill restaurant, Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited, the Culinary Federation of Jamaica, Sandals Resorts International, and My Titbits Pastries and Cakes taking over the gastronomic offerings of the evening.

The Jamaica Public Service silently ran its energy-saving campaign; ATL Auto showcased its latest Audi, and Proven Wealth was on hand to explain how to invest smartly.

A success by any means, Joy Clark, the event's chairman, was "in her ackee", a term used by Jamaican grandmothers, and producer Weston Haughton can tap himself on the back as a result of a fabulously well-coordinated production.
