Calabar and Edwin Allen have both convincingly retained their titles at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships, which ended a short while ago at the National Stadium.

Despite starting the day in third position, 26 time champions Calabar, which has now won their fifth straight title - their longest ever winning streak, overpowered their rivals in a relentless attack.

Calabar closed on 287.5 points ahead of Kingston College 250 and Jamaica College, 227.5.

Edwin Allen were never troubled in their girls' title defense making light work of the others in a strong and steady performance that earned them a staggering lead, which again proved too much for the challengers. 

The girls from Frankfield in Clarendon tallied 329.5 points. Hydel was second on 263; St Jago (241.5); Holmwood (184); Vere (139); Excelsior (80) round out the top spots.

Powered by champion girl Junelle Bromfield, St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) finished with 72 points in seventh.
