Puma has announced the signing of young and talented St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) sprinter Nigel Ellis.

The 18-year-old Ellis joins a growing Jamaican line-up of Puma track and field athletes which includes triple Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell Hansle Parchment, Jaheel Hyde, Natasha Morrison and Kaliese Spencer.

Ellis is the Carifta Games Under-20 champion and is thought to have a big future in track and field ahead of him.

Under the coaching of Reynaldo Walcott at STETHS, he lowered his personal bests to 10.16 seconds in the 100 metres and 20.40 seconds in the 200 metres.

Ellis won the sprint double at the ISSA Boys and Girls' Championships at the National Stadium in March.

He is also currently the fastest 100 metres junior athlete in the world.
