Agent Sasco endorses FGB music in Schools

Known in entertainment circles for his attire as one of the dancehall artistes who always avoids confrontation, the positive

attitude has earned Agent Sasco's the admiration of corporate Jamaica.

First Global Bank (FGB) a

subsidiary of the GraceKennedy group of Companies, has

conferred the title of music ambassador on dancehall artiste Agent Sasco for their Music: Perfect Pitch for a Sound Education Programme.

This initiative is a collaboration between FGB and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information in 15 primary schools across five parishes. The project is now five years old, having been established in October 2011.

Campbell is the latest individual to give the programme his full endorsement.

The objective of the project is aimed at enhancing the teacher-student learning experience in the areas of literacy and numeracy, primarily targeting grades three and four students .

"I find the music literacy

programme is awesome. I am confident that the students who are involved in the programme appreciate it. Visiting the schools, I can see how integral music is to the children's learning development," Campbell said.

"It goes without saying that bringing music into the education system can reap tremendous and positive rewards."

FGB has also rebranded its corporate outreach programme, naming it Global Cares.

In its most recent move to reach out to the nation's children, several FGB staff members, along with representatives from the Ministry of Education, visited Parry Town Primary and Infant School in St Ann. Staff mingled with the children and treated them to lunch and gift bags.

Principal Tamara Wilmot-Buchanan expressed pleasure at the gesture.

In the near future, schools in St. James, that are involved in FGB's music literacy programme will also benefit further through the Global Cares foundation. These include the John Rollins Success Primary, the Bickersteth Primary and Infant school and the Farm Primary and Infant School.

Head of marketing and communications at FGB Peter Lindo said the Global Cares planning committee would decide its next activities and at which schools these would be undertaken in the coming months.

Global Cares was established in April 2016 to streamline FGB's philanthropic efforts and bring more focus and structure to giving back to the Jamaican society through contributions of money, time, talent and

services.
