Two employees injured in explosion at Jamaica Broilers processing facility

Two Jamaica Broilers employees are now receiving treatment at hospital for injuries they received during an explosion at the company's processing facility in Spring Village, St Catherine.

In a statement, the company said the incident happened at the Best Dressed Chicken Further Processing Facility about 2 o'clock today but did not provide details.

Jamaica Broilers said the two affected workers were taken to hospital in the company's ambulance and their injuries are not considered serious.

It also said production of the Best Dressed Chicken has not been affected and over the next few hours specialised teams will be working to determine the extent of damage to the facility.

In addition, the company said the Jamaica Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of the incident.
