Take Akash in race two

TOMORROW'S 10-race programme at Caymanas Park offers carryovers in the Pick-9 and late Super-6 from race five to 10.

The Pick-9, with $1.8 million in the kitty, will embrace races two to 10, the first Super-6 from race one to six. We look at the first Super-6 on the United Racehorse Trainers' Association programme, which commences with the 'Lawrence Freemantle' $250,000 - $210,000 claiming race over 1100 metres to be contested by seven starters, including DA JACKAL, who was highly fancied to win on Wednesday over this trip on a $350,000 tag but could only manage seventh to FIFTYONESTORM. The five-year-old horse ran better than his final placing indicated, racing close up into the straight before fading in the latter stages.

Now dropped in class and that much fitter, DA JACKAL, to be ridden by Aaron Chatrie for trainer Andrew McDonald, gets the nod over the free-running ABOGADO and recent winner FIX IT UP.

The second race over the round-five course, this for the Royal Lancaster Trophy for maiden two-year-olds, also has seven starters, among them three first-time runners, two of whom - PROUD OF NUCLEAR and NUCLEAR COMMANDER - both trained by Gary Subratie, are fairly forward in condition and either could win.

WENT DOWN FIGHTING

Preference, however, is for AKASH, who went down fighting last Saturday when finishing a length third to MARKET FORCE and GREAT FAITH in the Brian Rickman Trophy over 1100 metres. The chestnut colt by Western Classic out of Gaza Sheree will report even better for this race, and with former champion apprentice Shamaree Muir aboard, gets the nod over Chatrie's mount, PROUD OF NUCLEAR.

The third race over 1200 metres for the Frank Parham Memorial Trophy over 1200 metres should be won by MR. AMBASSADOR, with leading jockey Omar Walker riding for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta.

MR AMBASSADOR (working well) was narrowly beaten by stable-companion SUPER-TRONICS over a mile on October 17 and coming back over this shorter trip, should make all at the expense of ARIZONA GOLD and WELL BLESSED.

SHADE OF BEAUTY, now back to winning form, is tipped to repeat against several of her old rivals in the fourth race over 1200 metres for $450,000 - $400,000 claimers.

The six-year-old mare from the stables of Michael McIntosh will again be ridden by the competent claiming apprentice Anthony Thomas from the convenient mark of 50.0kg and should repeat at the expense of old rival DIFERENTGENERATION in a field of 11.

The last two races in the first Super-6 should be won by WICKED TUFF (Chatrie up) and recent course winner STAR OF DAVID with top apprentice Bebeto Harvey aboard. Their respective dangers are ALL FOR THE GLORY and LORD STORM.
