Pepsi-Cola Jamaica has signed a multiyear deal as exclusive beverage supplier to Restaurants of Jamaica, operators of both KFC and Pizza Huts outlets, the island's largest restaurant chain.

The signing continues a near 40-year partnership between the two brands and will see only Pepsi products being available to Jamaicans and others who visit KFC and Pizza Hut islandwide.

Mitchell Watson, marketing Manager of Pepsi Jamaica, said the deal bolsters the beverage giant's commitment to connect consumers with their favourite beverage at all times, according to a release from the beverage company.

"We place a high value on our relationship with KFC," he said. "Being able to bring the power of our portfolio to Jamaica's favourite quick service restaurant is an important part of our strategy to lead in this market. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue working with one of the best-loved brands in Jamaica. KFC and Pizza Hut are national favourites for Jamaicans who have grown to enjoy the perfect combo of a chilled Pepsi beverage with every meal."

Marketing Director of Restaurants of Jamaica, Tina Myers Matalon, said that "this partnership is for us a big deal. It has seen our brands growing both individually and as a team working together to continuously provide Jamaicans with the best we have to offer. The renewal of this relationship, with a new approach to working together and striving for alignment on key marketing strategies is critical in maintaining the leadership positions of both brands."

Pepsi-Cola supplies KFC with Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Tropicana Juice Drinks, Aqua Essential, D&G Flavours, Ginger Beer, Ting and 7UP.

Pepsi-Cola Jamaica opened its doors in December 1999 after Pepsi Americas, the second largest Pepsi bottler in the world with operations in the United States, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean, acquired ownership of the soft drink business from Desnoes & Geddes Limited.

The acquisition included Brand Pepsi, the range of D&G Flavours, Old Jamaican Ginger Beer and Ting.

Pepsi-Cola Jamaica is now managed by the Central American Bottling Corporation, the Pepsi Bottler for Central America.

Pepsi Jamaica currently distributes Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Gatorade, Tropicana Juice Drinks, Aqua Essential, Ocean Spray, D&G Flavours, Ginger Beer, Ting, 7UP, Mountain Dew, Evervess Tonic, Evervess Club Soda, Evervess and Ginger Ale.
