Gov't considering to use sea water to power air conditioners at Norman Manley Airport

The government is exploring the possibility of using sea water to power air conditioners at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.
This follows Cabinet’s approval for the Airports Authority of Jamaica to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Deprofundis Ingenium SAS to undertake a feasibility study for an air-conditioning energy efficiency system.
The France-based company, Deprofundis, specialises in seawater air-conditioning technology.
The entity also offers consultation services to analyse the energy consumption of specific buildings or other areas, and puts forward renewable energy-based solutions.
