First-time ISSA-WATA Ben Francis KO finalists, Petersfield High School and Charlemont High, will be seeking to make history this afternoon at the Juici Park Complex Clarendon. Both schools will be hunting their first piece of silverware in schoolboy football in the match which kicks off at 3 p.m.

Kavi Meeks, coach of Charlemont, is hoping that they can repeat their preseason double victory over their rivals as they look to improve on their tame semi-final performance where they edged Lennon High 1-0. Charlemont hold a strong psychological advantage over their Petersfield as in preseason action they won 8-3 and 3-1 in two clashes.

'We Can Win a Title'

"We are looking forward to the game. We are a bit disappointed that we were not able to challenge for the daCosta Cup. However, we are in a position now where we can win a title. We know the Petersfield team as we have played them before and got good results against them," said Meeks.

"We didn't have a good game in the semi finals but we managed to get the result. Psychologically, I think we didn't master the pressure of playing at this level. However, right now, I think the players are better mentally and we are just looking forward to a positive result tomorrow," he added.

Coach of Petersfield, Maurice Duncan, said that despite losing the two games to Charlemont in the pre-season, they are confident that they can turn the tables as they have come a long way since.

Petersfield dismissed Port Antonio High 3-0 in the semi-finals after a disappointing run in the daCosta Cup quarter-finals.

"It's a final, so you know whatever happened in pre-season doesn't really matter now. We just have to go out and play. We want to win and it will come down to who plays harder and smarter," said Duncan.

"The team is confident. As I said, we just have to go play our game despite the injuries we have in the camp. We have a couple of players that are out with injuries but nevertheless, we have to go and play to the best of our ability to ensure we come out victorious," he added.
