Lewis leads Tallawahs to comfortable CPL T20 win over Royals

OPENER Kennar Lewis stroked a brilliant half century to lead the Jamaica Tallawahs to a comfortable six-wicket win over the Barbados Royals in their return Caribbean Premier League cricket match in St. Kitts.
The burly Lewis was in a no-nonsense mood yesterday and blasted 89 from 53 balls to help the Tallawahs get to 155 for four in 17.4 overs- wicket stand to set up the remarkable run chase for the Jamaican franchise.
Left arm debutant spinner, Joshua Bishop, bagged three wickets for the Royals, who earlier posted 151 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.
Azam Khan led the way with brisk 50 from 30 balls. while Glenn Phillips weighed in with 31 from 29 balls.
Pacer Migael Pretorious led the way among the bowlers with four wickets for 45 runs, while Fidel Edwards capped off a good bowling night for the Tallawahs, by bagging two wickets for 32 runs.
The win pushes the Tallawahs into second place on four points heading into their fixture on Wednesday against leaders St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
