The fourteen contestants in the Miss Jamaica beauty contest were in a frolicsome mood at the Royal Caribbean Hotel, Montego Bay, where they were guests.
At the Arawak Hotel, Mr John Kernan, general manager of the Arawak, Mr Nick Brimo, administrative manager of the Issa chain of hotels on the north coast, and Miss Allison Bowen (Miss Ocho Rios Hotels Association) were hosts to the contestants of the Miss Jamaica 1962 Beauty Contest. Miss Jamaica Pageant 1962 was a momentous occasion. The contestants were filled with pride and purpose. It was evident that they enjoyed every bit of the programme.
