Jamaica's Sunshine Girls are now the number-three ranked team in the world.

According to the lastest World Netball rankings, released on Monday, the Sunshine Girls have traded places with England, who are now ranked at number four.

The Sunshine Girls' elevation in the rankings comes on the heels of their historic silver-medal-winning performance at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England last week.

The Jamaicans, who defeated Australia and New Zealand for the first time in a major international tournament on their way to the final, still fall behind the two powerhouses, who retained their respective number one and two spots.

South Africa are fifth in the rankings ahead of Uganda, six. The top 10 on the list are completed by Malawi (seven), Wales (eight), Tonga (nine) and Scotland.
