Dream House | A luxurious oasis in Caribbean Heights
Like any art form, architectural beauty is very subjective, as we see and appreciate creative expressions differently. Even architects are known to criticise or praise each other’s work, as they themselves reveal their own emotional responses. The building fabric and interiors of this bespoke house, I dare say, will leave each and everyone of you open-mouthed with its appearance.
It’s dressed to impress, with an air of casual elegance with single and two-storey beige-coloured sections; fashioned from cedar wood shingle roofs and mahogany French windows which are sandwiched between green Bahama shutters. All on two acres of meticulously well-groomed grounds, benefiting from separate infinity swimming pools for adults and children, spilling with a waterfall effect from one into the other, on different levels. Lying next to the golf course by the fourth hole, this residence is located in the exclusive Caribbean Heights neighbourhood of Rose Hall, St. James.
The immense, 13,692 square foot, voguish living space is shared among the main residence, guest cottage, and a detached servants’ quarters. Its curated interiors with all their trimmings are fitted with five bedrooms, excluding staff, with en suite bathrooms; private office; TV room; and two powder rooms, along with cut-stone wall in the living and dining room; island kitchen for dining; breakfast room; a gym with bar and sauna facility; a wine cellar and laundry. Columned seaview verandahs allow the interiors to be an extension of the outdoors.
Attributes well-suited for the centrally air-conditioned house include: bathroom spa tubs, twin sinks, and his-and-her showerhead enclosures, in tandem with kitchen and bathroom countertops formed from Iranian marble, known as the world’s best; granite, quartz, and Corian pieces. The floor finishes add panache with coral stone tiles and mahogany wood.
Accessories that complement the house are the wine cooler, stylish custom-designed furniture, the likes of which are only seen in the most acclaimed private and historic homes, palaces, and boutique hotels. Built in 2004, this exquisite property is owned by a Kenyan family, adding a personal touch to its charm.
All who behold this property will find it beautiful!
