Two guns seized by police in St Ann

The Brown's Town police in St Ann have arrested a 34-year-old security guard in connection with one of two guns seized in the parish yesterday.

It is reported that about 4:00 p.m. the police conducted an operation at the Browns Town Mall during which a Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with two rounds of .38 ammunition was seized from the suspect.

He is being held for suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

Meanwhile, about 6:00 p.m., the Ocho Rios police seized a nine millimetre pistol along with 17 rounds of ammunition after a man fled leaving a knapsack behind. 

He is being sought.
