One of three men who allegedly engaged a joint police team in a shootout in Spanish Town on Wednesday morning remains at large, while two of his alleged cronies were fatally shot in the incident.

One of the deceased has been identified as Orlando Davis, otherwise called 'Blacks' and 'Son Son', of Jones Avenue, Spanish Town, the other deceased remained unidentified.

It is reported that about 6:30 a.m, members of the security forces were conducting a cordon and search operation in Backlands, Jones Avenue, Spanish Town, when they entered a dwelling and were fired upon by armed men.

The fire was allegedly returned and after the ensuing gun battle Davis and the unidentified man suffered gunshot injuries. The third man managed to escape from the law enforcers.

A Springfield rifle with two live rounds was reportedly seized from the scene.

Both men were taken to the SpanishTown Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The Independent Commission of Investigations has since launched a probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Area Five, Christopher Phillips, said Davis was a person of interest in murders and shooting within the space.

Phillips said the police are imploring wanted persons to turn themselves in, as the police will be relentless in pursuing them.
