Vybz Kartel to perform at first concert in 14 years at National Stadium December 31

After 14 years, King of Dancehall Vybz Kartel is set to make his triumphant return to the stage in a historic concert aptly titled Freedom Street. This highly anticipated event will be held at the National Stadium in Kingston on Tuesday, December 31, marking the first time Kartel will perform live since his release from prison.

Tickets go on sale at 3 a.m. on August 31 and can be purchased online for Bleachers, Grand Stand, In Field and Centre Stage. Physical locations for tickets will be announced at a later date. Freedom Street will be presented in partnership with Downsound Entertainment

The man of the moment, Vybz Kartel, assured his fans that this event will be one for the history books.

"To my fans, this concert is for you. Freedom Street is not just a return – it's a statement. I’ve been waiting for this moment as much as you have, and trust me, it’s going to be epic. The love and support over the years have been overwhelming, and now it’s time to celebrate together. See you on December 31st,” the ‘World Boss’ said.

With the energy of the streets and the anticipation of a decade-plus absence, this concert is expected to be a monumental moment in the world of dancehall.

Joe Bogdanovich, the CEO at DownSound Entertainment, and Robert Livingston, an executive director of DownSound Entertainment, producers of the event, stated that "Freedom Street is a celebration of resilience, artistry, and the unbreakable spirit of Vybz Kartel".

Cordell ‘Skatta’ Burrell and Karla Jankee, members of the production team, noted that "the event is going to be electrifying, and it’s going to be a night that will go down in dancehall history".

Jankee also noted that “the National Stadium is going to be transformed into something truly spectacular for Freedom Street. We’re not just putting on a concert; we’re creating an immersive experience that will usher in the new year with a bang. Expect nothing but the best – from the stage design to the lighting and special effects, it’s going to be an unforgettable night for everyone in attendance".
