Body of carpenter found inside building in Westmoreland, suicide suspected

The Whithorn police in Westmoreland are investigating a case of suspected suicide in the community.

The body of 43-year-old carpenter Richard Ruddock, of Hertford in the parish, was on Sunday morning found suspended by a piece of rope around his neck inside a building.

The police reported that a letter was found at the scene.

They say cops were called to the area around 3:00 a.m. where Ruddock's body was found on the third floor of the building.

It was removed.

A post mortem is to be conducted.
