The police have charged two men for the death of a man who died from severe injuries after being set on fire.

Charged with murder are 57-year-old security guard Garnet Dale, otherwise called 'Lazarus', and 42-year-old Kemar Wilson, both of Glen Drive in Kingston 8.

They are charged in relation to death of 34-year-old Kemar Smith, who lived in the community.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that about 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, Smith and persons from the community had a verbal dispute, during which he was set upon by Dale and Wilson who doused him with gasolene and then set him ablaze.

Smith, upon realising that he was set on fire, quickly removed his clothing and jumped into a water container in an effort to extinguished the flames, the police reported.

He then ran to the police station with severe burns all over his body.

He was assisted to hospital where he was admitted in a serious but stable condition.

On Tuesday, May 02, Smith succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday, October 9, a question-and-answer session was conducted with Dale and Wilson in the presence of their attorneys.

They were formally charged on Friday October 11.

Their court date is being finalised.
