Inaugural CARIFTA Gymnastics Championships set for Jamaica

THE NATIONAL Gymnastics Centre on Slipe Road in Kingston was filled with excitement as Jamaica proudly launched the inaugural CARIFTA Gymnastics Championships 2024.

This groundbreaking event, set to take place from November 29 to December 1 at the National Indoor Sports Centre, will bring together young gymnasts from across the Caribbean to compete at an international level. The championships will unite the region’s top talent in a unique celebration of athleticism, sportsmanship, and Caribbean unity.

Representing Jamaica in this historic event is a strong team of 73 participants, proudly showcasing the nation’s dedication to gymnastics and youth development.

Countries participating in this landmark championships include Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda, Aruba, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, and The Bahamas, joining Jamaica in a display of the Caribbean’s commitment to the growth of gymnastics.

The support of Supreme Ventures Limited and Mayberry Investments has been instrumental in making the event possible, reflecting their commitment to sports and youth development in Jamaica and the wider region.

Nicole Grant, president of the Jamaica Gymnastics Association, expressed her pride and gratitude at the launch, saying: “We are the first to host these championships. The CARIFTA Gymnastics Championships 2024 will feature a range of events, including floor, balance beam, uneven bars, vault, and rhythmic gymnastics.
