Rae, Gore eager for CMRC conclusion

Peter 'Zoom Zoom' Rae's hiccups with his RX7 Mazda at the most recent Dover race meet have been sorted out and he is now ready to take on his regional rivals for the Carib-bean Motor Racing Champion-ship (CMRC) title.

"The car was flying at Dover, but we did not have any appropriate tyres. That impacted us. We have now gotten some tyres and looking forward to the challenge," Rae told Automotives on Friday.

In 2012, Rae turned in a fantastic performance in Guyana, a feat he hopes to re-peat this year. He, along with Doug Gore, Noel 'Kawesi' Golding, and Gary Williams will be representing Jamaica at the final leg of the CMRC in Guyana, on November 24. The team will depart Jamaica on November 21, courtesy of Flight Jamaica.

Gore is looking forward to the trip. "I woke up this morning (Friday) and I am so excited to get to Guyana. The track down there is a good race strip and the people support motorsport. Things are really looking up for me - the car loves the track and I think we can pull it off," boasted Doug Gore, who is currently leading in the CMRC title chase.

Gore's Audi TT has been the talk of the motor racing circuit. In the first leg, the tall Monte-gonian dominated, making a clean sweep of the races.

The defending champion, Jamaica's David Summerbell, has opted out because of an incident in Guyana last year when he was controversially disqualified after coming first in one of the CMRC events.
