EMPLOYEES OF telecommunications giant Digicel, members of the corporate community, downtown Kingston, and guests experienced an early Christmas shopping at the company's headquarters located along the waterfront last Friday.

With discounts of up to 50 per cent, shoppers found a wide range of items at mind-blowing prices.

For the vendors, it was a grand idea, as they had the opportunity to showcase their finest and enjoyed an early Christmas rush.

Artwork, clothes, jewellery, household appliances, liquor, toys and other items on sale for the almost all-day event.

Paula Pinnock-McLeod, a former sponsorship manager at Digicel, represented for her mother's store, Fashion Fever, located in York Plaza, Half-Way Tree.

"It's a very good initiative and we have been partnering with them over the years, and I applaud them for it," said Pinnock-Mcleod

Kadian Vernon of Baby Kids Store, located in Tropical Plaza, Half-Way Tree, also expressed appreciation.

"Well, the idea is a wonderful one and our discounts involved no tax, so it is a great deal," she said

For Petro Mattis, head of culture and internal communications at Digicel, the day was a great opportunity for everyone.

"Well, we initially started this for our employees, as part of our yearly initiative to make sure our staff members are happy," said a cheerful Mattis.

"And when we saw the feedback we got, we opened it to corporate downtown Kingston," she added.

ATL, Tadda's Jewellery and Accessories, Mirror, Mirror Makeups, Red Stripe, and others joined forces to ensure a spectacular Grand Market.
