Students at the Morant Bay Primary School will be able to enjoy a clean and visually appealing library at the end of February. The library received a much-needed facelift after the efforts of the 2014 top 10 Jamaica Constabulary Force LASCO Top Cop nominees and staff members.

The library was cleaned and painted in preparation for the building of much-needed new shelves. Originally a storeroom, earlier plans to transform the space into a library were derailed due to frequent flooding at the school. The clean-up of the library is a welcomed initiative by the school administration, which has been working towards the target of increasing the school's literacy level from its current 83 per cent to the projected 90 per cent, or more.

The nominees also gave an interactive session with motivational talks, as well as listened to and responded warmly to the students' concerns.
