Cabinet has rejected the recommendation to award the Government public sector insurance scheme to the Life of Jamaica (LOJ).
Senator Dwight Nelson, Minister with responsibility for the Public Service reported a fresh contract awards process will be initiated.
Until then Blue Cross of Jamaica would continue to administer the scheme. However, a new request for proposals to administer the scheme will be issued in January.
The Health Contract was awarded to LOJ under the former PNP administration, and was sanctioned by the Office of Contractor General, Greg Christie.
