President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez called for several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to form a military alliance against the United States of America.
Mr. Chavez said the US poses a serious threat to South and Central America.
Recently, he accused the US of trying to de-stabilise the region by forging stronger links with Colombia.
Mr. Chavez is suggesting that Nicaragua, Bolivia, Cuba and Dominica create a united force.
He also is urging the countries to draft a joint defence policy and create a united military force against US imperialism.
