Students held hostage in Pakistan

More than 250 students and several of their teachers are being held hostage in a school in Bannu Town, Pakistan.



The police said suspect pro-Taleban militants are holding the people.



The militants reportedly took shelter in the school, after a confrontation with local police.



At least five militants are believed to be involved. There are unconfirmed reports that some of the children have been released.



Parents and other concerned residents have been gathering outside the school.

There have been no reports of anyone being harmed.
