Bulgaria\'s Prime Minister, Sergei Stanishev has shuffled his cabinet in the wake of criticisms by the European Union (EU).
The EU had urged Bulgaria, a new member state, to take swift action to tackle corruption and organised crime.
Mr. Stanishev has reportedly fired the ministers of defense, agriculture and health.
According to BBC reports, a new Bulgarian deputy Prime Minister will oversee the management of EU aid money.
The government is reportedly worried that the EU will cut it support, if a report due in July on its efforts to stamp out corruption is not submitted.
