The United Nations said the World Food Program will be suspending cyclone aid to Myanmar formerly Burma, because its government seized supplies flown into that country.

The UN said aid to the country would resume as soon as the matter is resolved.

Spokesman for the Programme, Paul Risley said all food aid and equipment that were flown in were confiscated.

The shipment reportedly included 38 tons of high-energy biscuits.

Mr. Risley said it is still not clear why the items were seized.

More than 62,000 people reportedly died as a result of the cyclone that hit Myanmar almost a week ago.
