Former United States President, Bill Clinton, has called for more funding to keep down the cost of drugs for people with HIV.

Mr. Clinton told the world AIDS conference in Mexico that a 50 percent increase was needed in the next two years, just to keep pace with expanding drug programmes.

Scientists are working on a new vaccine they say could be available in three years.

They said it would reduce a patient\'s need for full time anti-retroviral treatment.
