JDF says NWC over billed it by more than $700 million

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) is claiming that the National Water Commission (NWC) has overcharged it more than $700 million over the last eight years.

Lieutenant Colonel David Cummings made the claim this morning while addressing members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

The JDF was called before the parliamentary committee to discuss arrears of more than $500 million for various services.

The auditor general department had brought the issue of JDF’s arrears before the PAC.

It says a significant amount of the the army's arrears were in excess of 30 days and in breach of finance ministry guidelines.
