Colin Fagan to run Social Development Commission

Minister of State in the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, Colin Fagan, is now in charge of the Social Development Commission (SDC).

Fagan will add this responsibility to his original mandate to provide Ministerial oversight to the Jamaica Fire Brigade.

In announcing this change, Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Noel Arscott expressed “confidence that the Minister will successfully confront the challenges that exist, and move the SDC to the ideal point of facilitating economic and social empowerment in communities all over Jamaica.

His experience in community development activities will serve him well in this regard.”

The SDC is one of the Ministry’s five Agencies, and is responsible for among other things, the execution of the Community Development aspect of the Ministry’s portfolio.
