Enquiry: JCF found no evidence to confirm report of 'Dudus' sighting at Daryl Vaz's residence
Deputy Commissioner of Police Clifford Blake today revealed that the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) found no evidence to confirm a report that drug kingpin Christopher 'Dudus' Coke was seen at the private residence of then Information Minister Daryl Vaz.
That reported sighting was said to have occurred a day after Coke eluded the security forces during the May 2010 operations in west Kingston.
DCP Blake said there was no evidence to confirm another report that Coke's family were seen at Vaz's private residence in Portland.
The reports were among a stream of information that was being fed into the Police Control Centre throughout the operation.
However, testifying before the west Kingston commission of enquiry, DCP Blake said he was not aware of the source of the information and added that the police were unable to verify if they were true.
The West Kingston Commission of Enquiry is probing, among other things, the conduct of the operations in which more than 70 civilians and one member of the Jamaica Defence Force were killed.
