$7.4m worth of cocaine seized, St Catherine businessman charged

Cocaine valued at about $7.4 million was reportedly seized during a security screening following Nehemiah Douglas’ arrival from Trinidad and Tobago.

A 53-year-old St Catherine businessman has been charged in connection with the seizure of cocaine valued at about $7.4 million.

The drug was seized at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

Nehemiah Douglas was arrested and charged on Tuesday with possession of, dealing in, importing and conspiracy to import cocaine.

He is to make his first court appearance next week Tuesday.

The drug was reportedly seized during a security screening following the businessman’s arrival from Trinidad and Tobago. 

Members of the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division and the Contraband Enforcement Team made the seizure.
