Stockholm Diamond League: No success for Jamaicans in men's 400m or women's 800m
There was no success for either Rusheen McDonald or Edino Steele in the Men's 400m at the BAHAUS Athletics meeting in Sweden today.
McDonald made a flying start and was leading off the final bend, however, he failed to see the race out and finished sixth with a time of 45.55 seconds.
Steele came home eighth in a time of 46.17.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Machel Cedenio took the honours, with a winning time of 44.97.
Meanwhile, Simoya Campbell could only finish a disappointing sixth in the Women's 800m.
Campbell, who has a season’s best of 1:59:26, clocked 2:01:57.
The race winner was France’s Remelle Lamote (1:59:91).
Campbell was unhappy at the outset, and raised her hand to halt the start of the race.
The Jamaican athlete explained her actions when saying: “They took too long to start.”
