OMI falls to number two on Billboard Chart

Reggae/ska/pop artiste OMI has dropped from the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after holding the slot for four consecutive weeks. The coveted No. 1 slot is now occupied by R&B singer, The Weeknd, with his effort called Can't Feel My Face.
OMI's Cheerleader now sits at the No. 2 spot, enjoying its 16th week on the Hot 100 chart. Despite being overtaken by The Weeknd, all is not lost for the Ultra Music-signed artiste, as Cheerleader still sits at No. 1 on the Canada leg of the Billboard chart, while ironically, The Weeknd's effort is forced to settle for the No. 2 spot.
There is no other reggae artiste on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, this as Kanye West's All Day, which features a sample from reggae artiste/comedian Noel 'Rosah Rose' Ellis, and Shaggy's I Need Your Love, have both fallen off the chart.
The reggae Billboard chart also experienced some changes this week, with Jah Cure's recently released, The Cure album, falling from the No. 1 spot to No. 4. The album held the No. 1 spot for three weeks, a spot now occupied by the album, Water For Your Soul, by England-based Caucasian reggae singer Joss Stone.
Notably, veteran reggae artiste Carlene Davis is the only gospel act on the chart with her effort called Dripping Blood, the album peaked at No. 2, but now sits at No. 6 after spending two weeks on the chart.
King Jammy's recently released Reggae Anthology: King Jammy's Roots, Reality and Sleng Teng project, is the only compilation album in the Billboard reggae top 10. After two weeks on the chart, the album sits at No. 8 after peaking at No. 6.
Other notable entries are: Maestro, by Ky-Mani Marley which sits at No. 9 and Easy Skanking In Boston 78 by Bob Marley and The Wailers, which has been in the top 10 slot for more than 24 weeks and now sits at No. 7. Bob Marley and the Wailers are also the only reggae artistes to hold a slot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
