Crawford to fight for political life
The People’s National Party Secretariat has confirmed that the Member of Parliament for East Rural St Andrew Damion Crawford is to face off with at least two other political aspirants in an internal election in order to contest in the next General Election.
Longtime politician Peter Blake and businessman, Senator Norman Grant are said to be interested in the seat.
Crawford, a first term Member of Parliament, has come under heavy criticism after he told constituents that he had pulled trick to gauge their reaction when he indicated earlier this year that he would not be contesting the next election.
General Secretary of the PNP Paul Burke told The Gleaner Power 106 News Centre that a selection conference for East Rural St Andrew is on the agenda.
